The days are getting longer (slightly), the weather warmer (maybe) and spring is almost in sight (definitely). All of which can only mean one thing: It’s time to get the Saltwell parkrun Spring Series dates in your calendar!
For six consecutive Saturdays around April each year, there’s the opportunity to enjoy some local parkrun tourism and friendly club competition.
Spring Series competition rules
Anyone taking part in the series needs to be registered for parkruns and wear their Saltwell vest during the races.
Each race is scored in relation to other Saltwell runners with 1st place scoring one point, 2nd place two points, and so on. Those not attending will receive three points over the last finisher (therefore if there are 25 Saltwellians in the race the non attender will get 28 points).
Of the six races, competitors need to complete four to stay in the competition, with your highest five positions counting towards final positions (therefore allowing members to miss a race and not be penalised).
