The Saltwell club fell series for 2025 is going to be run under a new, more accessible format to encourage as many runners as possible to give it a go. Check out all the details of the new format and races on the Fell Series page.
The proposal for the change came from member Sam Harrison and has been approved by the club committee.
A few words from Sam:
“Fell running? Where do we start? Well, how about with the fact that Saltwell Harriers have been involved in this brilliant sport for the best part of 40+ years. From Northumberland to the Lake District, from the Scottish Borders all the way to the North York Moors, you’ll still find the red and white vests of Saltwell members competing today.
“As a club we love fell running and want to highlight that we have a fantastic internal fell running competition full of fun and adventure! For 2025, the updated format will offer a number of accessible races where you can come and try fell running for the first time. We’ll do our best to highlight these races and give you as much information as possible so that you know what to expect.
“The first race up is Brough Law — a very doable five-miler located in the picturesque Breamish Valley in Northumberland. What’s even better is that it’s only £5 and entry on the day! If anybody is interested in running Brough Law, reach out to your club captains who can let you know more about the race. There’ll be plenty of members racing so lifts and car-shares should be easy enough to arrange.”
